MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — Kids around Wisconsin are back in school this week.
Wisconsin law enforcement agencies are asking drivers to keep those kids in mind by being alert and cautious, putting down the phone, obeying posted speed limits and sharing the road with young pedestrians.
According to research by the National Safety Council, most of the children who lose their lives in school bus related incidents are four to seven years old, and they’re walking.
In addition to stopping for buses with their stop arm extended, motorists should always stop for a school patrol officer or crossing guard holding up a stop sign.
