SARONA, Wis. (WJMC) — A program about Wisconsin Whitetail deer is Wednesday at Fire Away Roadhouse, between Cameron and Chetek.

Hosted by Hunt Hill Nature Center, as part of their Beasts and Beer series. Melissa Ginger, program coordinator with Hunt Hill Nature Center, says DNR wildlife biologist Eddie Bruntvedt will talk about deer health, including how to tell how old a deer is by their teeth, and monitoring the herd for CWD.

“So Eddie will be talking about all sorts of things regarding whitetails but primarily focusing on chronic wasting disease, also known as CWD, which is a serious disease affecting deer populations,” Ginger said. “It’s going to be more on the interactive side. There will be a little quiz in play, there will be question-answer sorts of things and lots of great information.”

The event is Wednesday from 6 until 7 p.m. Pre-registration is required and can be done online hunthill.org/beasts-and-beer, in person at the office in Sarona, or by calling 715-635-6543.

The cost is $15 and the event includes a drink ticket and snacks with the presentation.
