LADYSMITH, Wis. (WRN) — A fatal house fire early Sunday morning in northwest Wisconsin.

Firefighters in Ladysmith saw black smoke coming from an upstairs window of the home when they arrived at the scene. The fire was brought under control within an hour-and-a-half.

A 35-year-old woman was found dead inside the home. Five other people escaped, with two of them suffering minor burns.

The home is considered a total loss. A cause of the fire has not been revealed as authorities investigate.
