RICE LAKE, Wis. (WJMC) — More information has been released regarding the search for a missing Rice Lake woman, who police say was seen on surveillance video.
Thirty-nine-year-old Melissa Davis has been missing since May 13, and Rice Lake Police have asked people to review surveillance cameras from near her residence on East Allen Street.
Police said videos showed Davis on foot, alone, enter a dumpster near her residence around 7:19 p.m. on May 13. She was not seen exiting the dumpster, which was emptied the next day and transported to the Barron County Waste to Energy Incinerator.
Suspected human remains and clothing matching that of Davis were seen at the waste-to-energy facility. Police said all of the contents at the facility have passed through the incinerator.
Investigators said the search is continuing for Davis and more details will be released later.
