BALSAM LAKE, Wis. (WJMC) — A Minong man accused of making threats to the Luck High School graduation–leading to its evacuation–has plead not guilty in court.
On Wednesday, 42-year-old Mark A. Denhartog Jr. appeared in Polk County Circuit Court, facing a felony charge of making terroristic threats and misdemeanor charges of harassment and resisting officers.
Court documents allege Denhartog sent texts to a family member, threatening to shoot up the Luck High School graduation on May 17. A state trooper met Denhartog at his residence, and said he made suicide-by-cop comments before driving away with a rifle. After the graduation was canceled, Denhartog arrived at the school and was taken into police custody after allegedly resisting arrest. No weapons were found on him.
Denhartog was in the Polk County Jail on a 10 thousand dollar cash bond, with conditions to stay away from one person, the Luck School and to not have any firearms.
