RICE LAKE, Wis. (WJMC) — An informational meeting tonight about the need to build a new public safety building has been postponed.
The City of Rice Lake says the fire and police departments have outgrown their current location on Wilson Street. Dan Penzkover, consulting engineer with the firm SEH, said it’s been a known problem for several years.
“They are outdated, older. They are running out of space. Just the efficiencies, I think, from operations where they are at now. They have been programming to try and get a new facility in the last four or five years—the chiefs can confirm that—but they’ve been looking at it for quite some time,” Penzkover said.
Due to a lack of quorum, the city council’s informational meeting tonight has been rescheduled for April 23.
