CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WRN) – In Chippewa County, an effort to bring a health care provider to the table before it closes a hospital and clinics. The County Board voted Thursday night in favor of a resolution that would request HSHS and Prevea Health work collaboratively with community partners for the continuation of care and services.
“So this resolution lets the health systems and the people of Chippewa County know that this board supports everyone working together to come up with a solution to this huge problem. And it is a huge problem,” said Chippewa County Administrator Randy Scholz.
HSHS and Prevea Health announced last month that St. Joseph’s hospital in Chippewa Falls, Sacred Heart hospital in Eau Claire and Prevea Health facilities will close in April.
So far officials from HSHS and Prevea have not met with elected officials in the Chippewa Valley.
